The race series that cover the Spring and Summer weekends have now been completed. Congratulations to the following winners:
Sunday morning GH – Chris Abbott
Laser Class points – Simon Limb
Fore series (GH) – Chris Abbott
Mid Pursuit series – Steve Bailey, Kirsten Sheppard, Marie Marshall
The junior numbers remain strong and we are regularly getting 10-15 children from 8-15 years old. Some of the new members encouraged by the training courses have bought their children down. The confidence levels of the young sailors is building and those with more experience are developing into very competent sailors. The junior series has been highly competitive with the two leaders in joint first and only 3 points separating third and sixth place. We have started to use the RS Feva’s and are getting some of the older children to sail in these boats. Support from the parents continues and this is greatly appreciated. We are all looking forward to the regatta and then a break in August.

In very windy, and somewhat cold conditions for a late April day, a large contingent from NSC took on sailers from Attenborough SC and Trent Valley SC at Trent Valley SC.
Led by our Commodore Steve Bailey and Sophie Todd, we won the trophy and for the 1st time in the history of the competition an away team won. Individually our sailers did very well with James Dalby coming 2nd overall, and Simon Limb 3rd.
What a start to the Thursday Evening GH series. It may have been cold and dull, but a large fleet turned out to contest the race in a generally firm wind from the east, although some of us still managed to find holes in it.
Congratulations to Roger & Michael on winning the first race; they are already setting themselves up as the crew to beat, but in this short race, there were four boats within half a minute of them on corrected time. Results.
With thanks as always to the Race Team, who made good use of the wind and time available.

Well done to James Dalby who has won the first event of 2013 racing season; the Easter Short Personal Handicap.

New Members Evening
The new members evening planned for Tuesday 2nd April has been postponed to Thursday 11th April and will be held in conjunction with the fitting out supper. This is for several reasons, most notably the continued cold weather forecast for next week, proximity to the Easter break, half term and a lot of people being away.
The planned visit by Morton Boats has been rearranged to suit, and if you want to view or buy anything in particular from their chandlery they will bring it with them if you let them know beforehand.
Fish (or pie) and chip suppers are on the menu, there is a sheet to sign up in the foyer, or you can contact Stephanie, however orders should be in by close of play on Sunday 7th please.
A few brave souls ventured out last weekend in the snow to begin the Saturday GH series. However, most gave it a miss, and there were no races held on the Sunday.
Easter Weekend saw a full racing programme, with 6 boats out on Saturday afternoon, and 5 boats out on Sunday.
